Busy Belly Bakes

Bakes without the belly ache!

A jam packed e-book full of recipes to help you live in belly bliss.

Hi, I'm Fi

I am Fi. My stomach & I have been on a chaotic food journey. From as early as I can remember, I have suffered from belly ache on a regular basis.

Cooking and baking food from scratch is such a big part of my life. I decided to make a series of cook books containing cherished family recipes that have been passed down through generations, tweaked by me to accommodate belly aches. I want to pass this valuable knowledge on to my 3 beautiful children and generations to follow.

Belly Bliss

To soothe belly ache rub the belly with your hand slowly in a clockwise motion

Belly Boost

Peel your fruit and vegetables where possible (we find skins are difficult to digest)

Bakes for your belly

Baked Apple with Apricots
This recipe has been passed down from my mother’s side of the family. It is made with gentle and easily digestible ingredients. There is no added sugar, as the combination is sweet enough. One of my sons turns to this recipe when he is having an irritable bowel flare-up.

Butternut Squash Risotto
Butternut squash is easy to digest and nutrient-dense. It adds a delicious, sweet flavour that my children love. Being a rice-based dish, it is light on the stomach.

Mulligatawny Chicken
This recipe absolutely saved me with my first born son. He was such a fussy eater, however, I discovered he actually loved spice. A perfect blend of mild spice and warming tomato. I started making it again recently to
include in this book and the boys have insisted it makes our weekly meal plan

Carrot and Turmeric Risotto
The two risotto recipes in my Minis book are very similar but my aim was to capture my children’s favourite recipes so that they can be passed to the next generation. The addition of turmeric here is to aid inflammation and when my boys were little they would love how the rice turned bright yellow.

Pear Crumble
Another favourite recipe inspired from my mother’s side of the family. Granny Short would use cooking apples. It is a must have on the table for Sunday roast!

Banana Cake

My ‘go to’ recipe when there are brown bananas in the house! Great warmed up in the toaster for breakfast on the run.

Belly Bliss

Avoid distractions during feeding. Try to keep your baby/toddler calm and relaxed to aid digestion

Belly Boost

Root vegetables are a good source of nutrition but too many in one sitting can cause wind
